 BACHELOR OF SOCIAL WORK (BSW)

COURSE OBJECTIVES
The Social Work education is designed to deepen the analytical understanding of students on social issues, problems, policies and programmes in social welfare and development. The course aims at developing skills and competence for ensuring effective delivery of services to all stakeholders especially the marginalized section of the society. Further the course promotes student’s sensitivity to

and understanding of divergent cultures and the challenges of socio-economic and psychological constraints that the individuals face in a pluralistic society. The social work training has a holistic curriculum with multidimensional approach to enhance professional skills and aptitude in students for social service and action, which in turn empowers the people to overcome their perennial backwardness. On the whole, the course framework is structured to achieve a balance between academic learning and the development of social work skills. There is a strong emphasis on integrating practice and theory with the purpose of producing highly competent practitioners.
