2005 in the name and style, VISWASS Dept of
Finance. The Institute, in its first attempt, offers Masters Programme in Finance and Control (MFC) in the state of Orissa, second only to the P.G Department of Commerce, Utkal University.
The main objective of the programme is to strengthen the students inquisitiveness, knowledge and skills in financial planning, decision making and control. To be more specific, this course aims to
- Develop and foster a collegiate environment.
- Promote a healthy relation and collaborate with business organizations, corporate houses, industry and other similar organization to achieve mission objective of
institue, starting from local to international level.
- Foster flexibility, creativity and innovative methodologies in the field of learning.
- Enhance the capacity of student to develop learning strategies in the process.
- Improve the student’s leadership abilities, teamwork and communicative skills.
- Encourage student to
participate in all academic and auxiliary
activities related to their career building at
the institute.
- Update curriculum in the global context in which organization operates.
- Develop new programmes keeping market demand in view.
- Innovate quality assurance practice in consultation with student, expert and academics.

COURSE STRUCTURE
Master of Finance and Control is a two-year full time Postgraduate Degree programme approved by Utkal University and recognized by the Government of Orissa. It is one of the advanced courses focusing primarily on finance. This course aims at enhancing skill and competence of students as an financial professional in today’s dynamic and complex business world. This two-year programme of MFC consists of 28 papers, out of which 26 are theory papers and two are practice project papers, spread over four semesters. |

IN HOUSE FACILITIES
A comprehensive range of
facilities and services required for high standard of
education are available in the institute.
Computer Lab
The institute provides state of art computer laboratory to cater to the academic use, which also includes Internet Broadband Connectivity for the purpose of collecting information and accessing e-mail round the clock.
Library
The Library of the institute has sufficient number of books, journals, and periodicals on finance and other related subjects. Adjacent to the library there is a spacious well – ventilated reading room and seminar hall facilities.
Classroom Facilities
Viswass Dept. of Finance provide spacious and modern class rooms which are well equipped with modern teaching aids such as overhead projectors, LCD projector and Audiovisual system to list a few.

EXAMINATION
A student has to secure at least 75% of attendance in classes, seminar and practical assignments taken together in every semester examination and/or to be admitted to the next semester course.
First two semesters shall comprise
8 theory papers carrying 100 marks each and the third and fourth semester examination shall comprise
7 theory papers and a Project Report carrying 100 marks each. Each theory paper shall be examined in two parts; 70 marks for the University examination and 30 marks for internal assessment by the Department. The Final Project Report shall be examined at the University level in two parts; the Project Report itself carrying 50 marks and a Viva Voice carrying 50 marks. The Department will evaluate the 3rd Semester Training Report and presentation, which carries 100 marks. |
