SOCIAL WORK

The primary mission of Social Work profession is to improve human well-being and help people to function the best way to maximize benefits within their community environment. The profession mainly focus on actions through people for positive social change .Social workers are sensitive to culture and ethnic diversity and strives to

liberate people from discrimination, oppression, abject poverty, and protect them from other forms of social injustice. These activities may be in form of direct practice, community organization, supervision, consultation, administration, advocacy, social and political action, policy development, research and evaluation.

Social work education aims at developing skills and competence among social work trainees to

plan, administer, deliver and evaluate social welfare services and educate people for execution of social action. Social work education at VISWASS is imparted both at the undergraduate and postgraduate level leading to award of Bachelor and Master degree in social work.
